Focusing purely on light, composition and negative space, Nathan photographs inanimate objects which are found in everyday environments as they are unaltered, yet yield a sense of intrigue and interest about the narrative or to elicit an emotional response in the viewer. My choice of medium is digital photography because it is a powerful tool for visual storytelling; offering me direct engagement with the real-world, the ability to frame and freeze an everyday moment or object which is banal in a manner to challenge perception, stimulate thought.
